Martin & Co Franchise Owner Nominated for National Award

Business-savvy women are defying the recession, with their hard work and determination, according to the National Landlords Association (NLA), that recently announced the finalists in the NLA Property Women Awards 2010.

The list of finalists include Martin & Co franchise owner Nora Rojas-Sinclair. Nora runs the Fife and Kirkcaldy offices with her husband Iain and was nominated for an award by her staff.

The awards highlight the most dedicated women in the private-rented sector, who have weathered a difficult market and continue to go above and beyond the call of duty. Finalists are judged on their property portfolio, financial success and personal achievements within the property sector.

On the announcement that she was a finalist Nora commented “I am delighted with this news. We were shortlisted earlier this year in the Estate Agent and Letting Agent awards so to receive another award nomination is just great. Along with my husband Iain we launched the Fife office in 2001 so it’s great to see all our hard work is now being recognised.”

Nora’s latest awards success is another coup for the Martin & Co offices that trade in Scotland. At the Estate Agent and Letting Agent awards (ESTAS – voted by landlords) Martin & Co Glasgow South topped the bill taking gold for the Grand Prix award for Best Letting Agent, winning both the gold award for the Scottish region and out performing all other letting agents from around the UK (whether an independent agent or part of a chain). Livingston & Falkirk won a Bronze and Aberdeen and Dunfermline were both shortlisted.

The Martin & Co network also won a silver award in the Best Large Letting Chain category (having won Gold last year).

The NLA awards will take place in London at the end of June and will be hosted NLA by Melissa Porter, the respected property entrepreneur, interior designer and television star.

Melissa has once again been “blown away” by the quality of this year’s entrants. She comments: “The calibre of entries has been amazing. All those that have been shortlisted should be extremely proud. Their determination and desire to succeed despite adversity is an inspiration to us all.”
